Had a rough week, but getting back on my horse.

Overall, the week was easy going.  I did have an emotional bounce and a near breakdown, but it was probably mostly do to pressure.  After gathering all the pieces and putting them back together, things turned out just fine.  In fact, looks like the table have turned a little bit and there is a lot of potential in the pipeline for great things.

A little girl asks how humanity came about …

A little girl came to her father and said: “Daddy, where do humans come from?”

Dad answers: “Well, God created Adam and Eve.  They had babies and we all came from there.”

A few days later, the little girl asks her mother the same question.

Mother answers: “Well, we evolved from monkeys over time. ”

The little girl was furious and went to her father and said: “Mommy said we came from monkeys but you told me we came from Adam and Eve.”

Daddy smiled and answered: “That’s right.  I told you about my side of the family, and mommy told you about hers.”

You and what army?

I realized that standing up and saying something is what has always made me who I am.  It also is one of the reasons I get in trouble.  I admit, I have a problem staying silent.  The only problem is that I think everyone else has the same problem and that they just need a venue to express it.  So, I think I’ll volunteer to put myself, body and soul on the line, suck in my gut and charge full speed ahead.  I’m successful in breaking the silence, but what next.   I turn around and everyone is silent.  I stand waiting on top of the mountain in the glare of the sun.  For a moment, I feel like I accomplished something and people will soon take a stand.  Then the silence continues, and the stares grow blank.  The other side brushes me aside as if to say, “You and what army?”.  I look at the crowd again, and almost see a guy in the back yawning.  Slowly, I sit back and accept that my courage is going down in the books as someone who just likes to interrupt others.  If that’s not enough, everyone looks at me like I’m an asshole for wasting precious time from the life of everyone else just to get some attention.  Nice.

Today must be a productive day…

I have been putting so much off to the weekend hoping that I have time to do everything I need to do.  Well, lets just say it’s Sunday and I’m just about to get started.  It’s not like I was lazy all weekend, it’s just that my weekend just got started.  I got back from work on Friday and I had to talk to my brother for hours on some business we were doing together.  So by the time we were done, I was fried.  I was supposed to take my son out on Friday too.  His birthday was in the middle of the week and I couldn’t take him out then because I had a busy week.  So Saturday came around, why didn’t I start then?  Well, I had to go get an x-ray of my chest 5 days later then when I was supposed to.  After that, I had to go to work because we have a deadline coming up.  I got back home, and had to take my kid out for his birthday.  That leads us up to Sunday :) .  Of course, by the time it was time to do what I had planned to do this weekend, I was completely fried.  I woke, ate breakfast, vegged out in front of the TV for two hours and went to bed.  Woke up again at 1:30 and now I’m finally starting.   EEEEHHHHH… I think I can pull off everything, I just figured I would vent first…

The InHouston Event

Went to the InHouston event last night.  Although I don’t drink and it was held at the Tasting Room, it was still a lot of fun, met many interesting people and had a great time with interesting conversations.  This was my first event, but looking forward to many more.  Also met Eric Standlee, the guy who started it all.  I got to thank him for something truly wonderful.  I’m looking forward to going to my next one.
